Thoughts & Review on- Pinto has an idea by Rajeev Saxena

Thoughts & Review on- Pinto has an idea by Rajeev Saxena I am reminded of our young canteen employee, while writing this review. He is a well educated individual, albeit doing a job way below his qualifications. However, unknown and sad his circumstances might be which forced him to take up this job, you can see his ingenious skills in the way he washes the cups, saucers, hangs the kitchen towels to dry, etc. His tea making skills might need a little more practice, but his "jugaad" skills are definitely being put to good use. "Pinto has an idea" by Rajeev Saxena is story of a boy named Rajat Srivastava poplularly known as "Pinto" by everyone. It starts in a small town Atrauli in UP, where Pinto a young innovator, sets his curious mind to solve everything in his life. His first invention being a tool on how to remove the kernels of a corn successfully. This little idea germinates the seed of inventing things in life to make day to day living easy. ...

Thoughts & Review on "Teenage Diaries-The days that were" by Saurabh Sharma

Thoughts & Review on "Teenage Diaries -The days that were" By Saurabh Sharma Confession :- I'll be honest, I was a little bit apprehensive when i picked up this book for reading. Given all the soapy, cheesy young adult fiction we have nowadays, this was a refreshing distraction. So yes i am glad i am picked up this book for reading & sad too because i never had such cool friends while I was in school. The book, begins with a baby named Ghanshyam who doesnt like his name, because his name is going to be butt of many jokes in future, during his school days. Little Ghanshyam is brought up in an Indian Middle class family in Baroda and he has his older brother Roshan to look upto who is the perfect son of his parents. Ghanshyam begins his tryst  & (mis) trials in his alma mater "St.Edmonds" with his best friend Vikram. Both ceremoniously begin their 8th Standard in St.Edmonds, where girls join them in 8th std. An all boys school, becomes co-ed wit...

Thoughts and Review on- A state of Freedom by Neel Mukherjee

"W e are all writers at heart, only most of us have lost our words. " I almost felt a void when i finished reading A State of Freedom. I felt a kinship with all the characters & for me all these days, nights & the restless moments were filled with them. At times, this novel or a consortium of linked short stories filled me with so much sadness, that i was almost tempted to keep the book down. To let it unfinished. But perhaps just as an unfinished work of a writer leaves a writer incomplete, a book unfinished also leaves reader incomplete. Its almost been 24 hours that i have finished this book reading, i am almost tempted to start it again. The novel is undoubtedly sad. But it kind of invokes a thought process inside your head, on what does sadness means to you ? Is it longing for someone, something you have lost or sadness is just a poor far fetched cousin of struggle and survival. Neel Mukherjee's touches on these timeless subjects. It might've been...

Book Review - 50 cups of Coffee by Khushnuma Daruwala

This is how the conversation went between my friend and me in a washroom. Me- So i just completed  reading this book"50 Cups of Coffee" She :- Oh wow ! is it like "50 shades of grey ?" Me- Err..No The conversation continued with difference with literature and literotica & also how i tried to explain my friend the book "50 cups of coffee" was all about adventures of finding a groom via matrimonial site which definitely drew a blank stare from her, because she was experiencing marital and maternal bliss both. But such are conversations in the washroom. We sealed our never ending conversation to an elusive appointment of coffee date and of course why the bathroom tap doesn't work. Conversation between us female gender normally oscillate between these two topics. So when this enticing titled book came up for a review, i knew i had to read it. Reading just the introduction of the book made the decision only stronger. The book is a strin...

Needy girl's love poem

A girl she needs, she just needs, knows not what, She dreams her needs are her love, she weaves her dreams, but its actually a mess in her head. Its not love, its just a need, to complete her life, a temporary love, she mistakes her need for love, she wants to hold his hand, not in love, but because in need, You will see her building castles in clouds  pregnant with rain, you will see her closing  eyes and weeping silently, oh she writes poems dedicated to love, but its not love, its need, She is there in her jungles of doubts and despair, where she leaves a trail of broken dreams and expectations, No, it just a need, disorganized feelings, born out of habit, born out of society, May be she knows that, its just a need, her temporary love with fade away with time, she will bleed then in her heart silently, will wipe her tears, move on again, To find a new need. May be she knows this, she is her own soul mate, she will tear herself into ti...
